What Measurements Did Student Housing The Hague Take Due To Covid-19?

The Covid-19 crisis has affected everyone's daily life. Each and everyone has to adapt to the new measures from the government. This is how we implemented the measures against coronavirus:

First of all, we keep 1.5m distance, and we work from home, when possible
Besides washing our hands regularly, we have also placed hand disinfection pumps in every office room. Everyone has to disinfect their hands when entering the office
We do not accept visitors at the office without an appointment
All viewings are being held in specific time slots, you have to register for a viewing and use a facemask (if the local measurements allows us to)
We also offer video viewings, you have to register for this as well.
We wear facemasks when inside our accommodations and keep physical contact to a minimum
Health and hygiene are very important to us, especially now, not only for us but also for our tenants

Question 2

Do I Need To Pay Agency Fees?

Accepted Answer

We do not charge you any agency fees for listings that are on our website.

If you want to book an accommodation, you fill in an application form, sign the contract, and pay the deposit and it is all yours. After you filled in the application form, we ask for a contract drafting fee, amount of the fee will count towards your deposit.

Question 3

What Happens To My Mail That Arrived At The Accommodation When I Already Checked Out?

We can send you your mail, upon request.

You can fill in a form to request that we send you your mail that arrives at the accommodation. If we stumble upon your mail, we will collect it and let you know via email.

Please kindly note the following:

We need your consent to collect and send your mail before the end of your contract.
We only send postal mail, no advertising magazines or folders.
We can send your mail to your home address, if we need to send your mail abroad, there may be additional shipping costs involved.
We collect and send your mail for a maximum period of three months.

Question 4

Can I Extend My Contract?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to stay longer than your end date stated in your contract. However, if there are any other accommodations available which you are interested in, feel free to apply to those.

Question 5

Is There Somewhere I Can Store My Bike?

Accepted Answer

This varies as no accommodation is the same. It is only allowed to store a bike in a designated area such as a garden, barn, or storage. This area should be reachable without bringing your bike into or through the accommodation itself. And if needed the bike can be stored on the street with a good lock. Check with the specific advertisement in question if there is any designated area to store your bike.

What Is Included In The Rate?

The prices mentioned on our website are all including service costs (like furniture) and flat rate - unless indicated otherwise - based on a stay of one year. The price consists of the flat rate, furniture and service costs.

It is forbidden to rent out with a fixed all-in rental price. It is not allowed by law for agencies and landlords to make a profit on utility costs, as we try to be as transparent as possible, we have separated these costs. You can find more info regarding this here.

What Is The "Welcome To NL" Offer?

The "Welcome to NL" offer is an exclusive package designed for first-time students in the Netherlands, offered in partnership with Student Housing Hunter.

What services are included in the "Welcome to NL" offer?

The "Welcome to NL" offer includes the following services:

Translation Support: We provide Dutch tenancy agreements and terms for legal reasons. Student Housing Hunter (SHH) can assist with translations to ensure you fully understand the terms. Please note that Dutch contracts remain legally binding.
Registration Support: Assistance with the registration process and support with tasks such as banking, finding a family doctor, obtaining a Dutch SIM card, etc. SHH also guides you through de-registration processes when necessary.
Additional Assistance: Apart from translation and registration support, the package may offer further assistance tailored to the needs of international students. For specific details, please refer to the Student Housing Hunter website.

Are there any additional costs associated with the "Welcome to NL" offer?

While the advertised price for the "Welcome to NL" offer includes the Student Housing Hunter fee, additional charges may still apply for furniture, utilities, internet, and other amenities. These costs are not included in the advertised price, on the SHTH-website, and will be specified separately in the tenancy agreeement, as with regular offers. Question 8

Can I, As A Parent, Rent Student Housing For My Child Who Is An International Student?

Accepted Answer

No, you cannot rent student housing using your details and have your child live there. The student needs to fill in their own take-in form with their own details. As a parent, you are allowed to be the guarantor. This means that all details must be provided by the student tenant, including their email address. You may fill in your details as a parent in the guarantor section. If we find that the take-in form is not filled in correctly, we will reject it. Any attempt to provide false information may result in the denial of renting with us, as it will be considered fraudulent activity.

Please note that no refund will be provided if we discover that false information or fraud has been committed.
